These are fabulous. Thanks for doing this tour, and sharing it with us.
I love the photo that DTO pointed out, looking northeast over Park East to Downtown.
What's also so exciting about these grand, sweeping aerial perspectives, is that you can visualize EVERYTHING that's under construction or planned, like a finished pedestrian bridge, Riverftont Place 2, Wallstreet Tower, Midtown Crossing, JLofts, etc.
Thanks again!

Thanks everybody!!
| the1wags wrote: | Those are really nice, thanks for coming up and sharing these Bill. You did what I was thinking for my next aerial run, a close up to the core run. Those ones looking down on 1st National are sweet. Good job! Who did you fly with? |
Iowa Helicopters, pretty much the only helicopters serving Iowa and Nebraska I think.
It was a lot of fun, I was only above Omaha for a few minutes as I was doing aerial work outside the city. But I was there long enough to get a few shots!
Nice town, I have always liked Omaha. Stupid rentacop being an |expletive| while I was taking photos of First National Tower.
"um you are going to have to delete those"
I'm like, I don't think so.
"you could be taking photos of the security system", "that's a high power camera"
First off, I'm on public property, so buzz off, you have no authority over me. Second, I'm taking a time lapse architectural shot from across the street. If I wanted to take photos of the security cameras, I would simply walk right up to the building during the middle of the day and take pictures while walking into the building and you would never know I did it. Second, I was 50' above the tower a few hours ago in a helicopter, where were you then? These photos will tell me nothing other than the buildings looks pretty cool at night.
I was upset.
I get so tired of that |expletive|.
If I wanted to do harm to a tower, all I need is google for all the info I would ever need. If I needed more detailed shots, I sure as heck would not go out there with a tripod and a massive SLR and draw attention to myself when I can simply take a 10 megapixel pocket camera right up to the building and take "detail" photos all day long.
9-11 has been nothing but an excuse to hassle legitimate people.
OK, I'm done venting.

Great Photos! I am amazed by how low you got. Iowa helicopter is one place, but there is also Dyna-tech out of the Millard airport that I have used a couple of times.
I agree F_CK the First National Security. |

I lost a Job about a month ago because the Dyna-tech was down for an engine overhaul and the Iowa guys were helping with the floods in Iowa. May be during the engine overhaul they found something more serious? I did use them twice this spring.
Here Is the Dynatech chopper:

Very good as usual, Bill. Welcome to the system.
I've been familiar with your work of Las Vegas and NYC for some time. You're frequently cited on the various Las Vegas chat boards as well as photo boards.
OBTW, in case you don't recognize my handle here, I go by my IRL initials (DMR) on most of the photo boards and such. |

Well if it made it through Vietnam just fine....
I know it looks scary but it rides nice. The pilot is also a helicopter/airplane mechanic so I bet its sound. I hope? |
