Wow, tons of great stuff in there. Good work. If I may, when I shoot very bright contrasty scenes I always shoot 2/3 to one stop underexposed. I turn my in camera contrast all the way down (to avoid blowing highlights...the light is contrasty enough by itself) and turn the sharpness and saturation all the way up. That keeps the pictures from looking too washed out in the harshest light.

Good job Adam. You've got some pretty cool angles in there I haven't thought of. Thats one thing I really like about photography, you could give 100 people the same camera and send em down town all together, everyone "sees" different things/angles to shoot. Lots of good ones in there, Id weed out the blurry and the missed cause driving shots. Laughing I like the ones in SOMA, especially the one from in SOMA looking up 11th, sweet. Thanks for sharing these.

You could look to photoshop elements. It is around $80, but it has a lot of great tools. I used it professionally for a long time before I really started digging into layers and masks with photoshop CS.

As for your camera, you are using a D50, right? I found the menu option on dpreview.com. They point to: Optimize Image>Custom>ToneComp>Low Contrast-2. You should be able to set up custom user profiles, which is real handy when your shooting under certain situations. I have a few on my Canon 20D that really great for weddings and terrible light situations. For instance, it is reall easy to meter a bride and groom and have the brides stark white dress have all the highlights blown out. I have a profile that sets the contrast to -2 to preserve the whites while still getting detail in a dark black tuxedo. Play around with the settings and see what you like.

I have a FinePixA345 from FujiFilm. It has settings like portrait, landscaping, sports, nights, etc. We should talk more at the forum meet. It's kind of something I want to do as a hobby. Thanks again Chris.

I have to say here - Chris turned me on to PE - when was it? - last year. I still have to learn all of it - but it is fantastic. Highly Recommended! Thanks Chris.

It means they are going to paint the roof of the strip mall black and that the development is going from suck to blow.

Hah, that's probably even worse.

I hope my screen isn't messed up. It's only a 9 month old Dell notebook.

I hope that not wrong with it either. Maybe it's the camera lighting, but it's definitely purple on my screen.

Hella cool!

That is an odd street sign on 14th Street - but I guess that's what happens when you have a 4-lane one-way street that just dead-ends. The other street I think is funny is Douglas Street, when it dead-ends at 8th Street with 3 lanes.

Wow. What a great comprehensive tour! Although I don't really care for some of the suburbia shots, good work! And I bet you got a great work out and broke a sweat.

Hey thanks guys! I have removed all the surburban, blurry, and drive-by pics. Also added a comment that I was originally going to have, but lost it in the mumbo-jumbo.
