Tonight Josh (wags) and I went over to Council Bluffs for some "Pratice" shots of the Woodman for the 911 Memorial.

WOW!!!!! Once again I am humbled. Great shots. I especially like 1, 5,6, and 7 aw what I am saying I love them all!! Omaha is living up to it's river city name via your pictures. I started thinking Pittsburgh when I looked at them. Thanks!

Maybe eomaha can rent (on the cheap) the river city star for a photo excursion. Free Press for river city star......hmmmmm Might be some interesting shots from the river. I guess one could climb the rr bridge in CB for a new angle. Someone who is perhaps is a bit more brave than me.

Thankyou.

Eric (zephyr) and I climbed the Illinois Centeral Railroad Bridge. Eric posted a bunch of pictures which turned out great. I didn't have my camera yet. Here is one of them, the link to the rest is dead:

As far as the river city star. We talked about it, I would be up for it. I took a cruise about 2 weeks ago, Would have had great pictures if I had my camera. However it was a "Bacardi Cruise" put on by a liquor company for local Bars. It was great, but I didn't wan't to worry about my camera, after the fact, I wish I would have taken it.

Very nice photos, Brad and Josh! I really like that location with the IC bridge in the foreground. Yeah, I don't think I would try climbing the UP bridge - that one is too active for me to try. The IC was safe because there it is obviously not used.

Thanks.

There is no need to climb the UP bridge because there is a public parking gargage right next tot he bridge, which is where we took the last few pictures from in the first post.

Thanks all! It was pretty cool going and taking shots from there other than the mutant mosquitoes. I was thinking it was bad and Brad had shorts on. Laughing Its a pretty cool park, unknown to me until yesterday lunchtime.

Narrows River Park is a great place for a picnic -being right along the Missouri River.
I would go there more often except for the fact that there is a $2.00 entrance fee.

Actually no it would not be easy. There was a park ranger there most of the time we were there and it is secluded. But it is only $2.00 per car so its not bad.

When I was there the last time there was a Sheriff there. I don't know if the park has a history or not where it would need patrolling - or if two many people are stiffing them.

The Narrows is a county park, rather than a city park, so the county does charge admission ($2/day/car, or you can purchase a $10 annual pass good at all Pott. Co. parks).

The Narrows Park

I think in the past (quite a few years ago), before the county spent a bunch of money on upgrading the park, there was a history of people from around the area using the park as a place to dump unwanted goods, often in the river, since it was secluded. But the county has someone at all their parks anymore.

Your pics are nice. I especially like the night ones.

I took a pic from Harrahs today to get the flag. I used a fake lomo technique on it in photoshop. I like how it came out.

That is a great view from Narrows River Park. I think that will be one of the best angles once Wall Street Tower is built to the north of the UP building. The building density from this angle is great.

Just in case anyone forgot about this project:

The view coming up I-29 is going to going to present quite the impressive cluster as well. Council Bluffs seems to have a monopoly on the best skyline views.
