I had lifetime interest in Railroads.

Sept 19-22, Wednesday thru Saturday, the 30th annual convention of the American Association of Private Railroad Car Owners was held in Omaha.  This  train named the "City of Omaha" was parked just south of the Durham Western Heritage Museum in two parts or half.  One half was next to the Durham Western Heritage Museum and the other half was just across from BNSF Track from the old Burlington Station. Each half has 7+ Private cars with Amtrak locomotive.

Saturday afternoon, I had an opportunity to photograph the "City of Omaha", the train of private cars from ...

... 10th Street Bridge

... Inside the museum's South/track side

... Behind / south of Museum

I had tour of two rail cars:

The former UP sleeping suite car "Pacific Sand"

And former CNP business car "the Scottish Thistle"

The tour begins with Kitchen

The Bathroom

The Dinning Room

One Stateroom

]

The Lounge

That's pretty cool. I would like to take a train somewhere someday. I'm seriously considering taking Amtrak ( I doubt it will be as nice as those cars) on my next trip to Chicago.

The Museum and trains just dwarf the guys in this picture.
