Re: Downtown Soccer Stadium (Abbott Drive)
Correct. I know me and my group of friends are a very small sample. But we won't go all the way out to Werner park to watch the games. We usually end up going to St Andrews or Barchen to watch. Once they build downtown, almost all of us will be buying season tickets. I think there are a lot of us. ...

And as far as the affordable housing crisis, this project was never about affordability. However, that may change once the market is saturated and competitive. That is the only real way to work on affordably housing... And the market can be just as saturated and competitive when housing development...

Do we have the adresses of the "houses" targeted for demolition? Some of those in the area are kind of rough from the outside. Salvable I believe, but rough. And only a little rough. There are much, much worse that get repaired. But what would be the worst is to tear down some of those in...

So Mega Saver's solution is dump traffic into Chipotle and Starbucks parking lot. Then it can go onto Douglas or Farnam st. Isn’t that already one of the worst parking lots in the city? Yup. Even the street(s) behind there 71st and Dewey are basically overflow parking lots during certain times of t...

i wish they'd put the floor numbers on all sides- on my drive home sometimes, i head east on douglas towards CB and it's hard to count the floors while i'm moving :) Throw on the hazards and just stop in the middle of Dodge. Basically pretend your an Uber Eats driver long enough to get your count.

Well, the only NHL franchise that was prime for relocation, the Arizona Coyotes, are heading to Salt Lake City. Not that NHL in NE had a great chance but in my mind this would be the nail in the proverbial coffin. I believe the pitch wasn't for relocation anyway, but for expansion right? That's as ...

The GM thing is vaguely a myth at this point as it's very easy to blame them, but it's also more complicated than that. GM didn't actually buy Omaha's streetcar lines, it was owned by O&CB until the end. Most streetcar networks around the country, including Omaha, were built by private develope...

People keep talking about how the streetcar is too expensive, blah blah blah… Well, we’d still have them if it weren’t for GM and big oil who came along, tore them up, burned the trolleys and said “here’s a bus instead”. It costs money to fix mistakes, but 100% behind bringing the streetcar back! I...

Building a streetcar to help the homeless get to Creighton? You can stop that right there. Its a red herring and has no real correlation with any topic in this thread. The difference between OKC and NYC is that the Texas urban megaregions are still exploding in population while NYC is still not back from the pandemic.
