Re: Douglas County Courthouse - Future expansion/renovation
There is no other way to put it: Option 4 is absolutely unacceptable. As pointed out by others, prudent use of taxpayer dollars when developing the new Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center should have accounted for the long-term needs of the county court system as a whole. To boot, the current D...

Re: Logan Building to go Indigo (18th and Dodge)
Happened to drive by this project just last week. It’s coming along very nicely. This is perhaps one of my favorite projects underway. These buildings, while ripe with development potential, were very much as risk of demolition unless the right developer came along.

I am pleasantly surprised by the details of this project. It seems like an all-encompassing plan, with space for residents, retail, offices, civic engagement, and lots of green. The great thing is that there is ample time to refine the visual components as the project progresses, though I don't hate...

Here is an updated rendering for the new building on 39th and Farnam. Groundbreaking expected in early May I love it. This project fits in so well with the character of the surrounding neighborhood. GreenSlate does things really well. But, for the sake of greater density, just one or two more floor...

Whatever happens in this area will ideally flow with the development just west of Century and with any development that occurs on the land that ConAgra is vacating. Massive condo buildings and an observation tower don't really make for a more livable downtown. Both areas (ConAgra and the riverfront)...
