It is surprisingly huge when you drive around the neighborhood, but I don't mind the looks of it. It's tucked away enough so that it doesn't dominate Leavenworth St.

I noticed that with the Midtown Triangle building. I think it's because wood structures are limited in the open unsupported space they can provide. Steel structures can create the big open bays for commercial units.

Saw this sign pop up on 33rd & Mason. Same logo and and name as the completed 31st street project. The rendering on the sign is actually for the 31st street project, but maybe the 33rd street project will have something similar.

There's a huge lot being bulldozed just a few houses down from this project. I saw it this morning while biking to work. I'll try to take some pictures later. I wonder if it's part of the big TIF project that iamjacobm mentioned

This whole area really is neat, and I like seeing all this development going on. I wouldn't mind living in that area. looks like they might be done with grading and excavation. two big drilling rigs (i dont know what else they'd be called) were on site this morning, and surveyors have been busy for a few days.

someone mentioned tax incentives for condos being a crazy idea. i don't think it's crazy if you consider that bypasses and freeway expansions are indirect subsidies to suburban developers and trucking companies.

Looks like that was the Burt Tower on 20th and Burt, which was demolished in 2003 to make way for Creighton dorms. I think it was elderly housing in the 70's and 80's.
