Re: Nebraska Crossing Village District
If they want to go with this Prairie / farm theming, they should make the stadium look like a giant rustic barn. Maybe then the Knight Owl name would make more sense. For real. These are awful names. At least with your idea there’s a connection…. Nebraska Sprawl is still the best team name possible...

Re: Nebraska Crossing Village District
Who really knows but those two? My speculation is that they are not set on anything if it is tied to the right $$$$, as would be the case for almost anyone. They were proud enough of "Knight Owls" that they invested in concept merch to show the NHL commissioner and were really giddy annou...

Re: Downtown Soccer Stadium (Abbott Drive)
ah ok, that is even better i think. When i looked back at the original post being 10k, I was definitely thinking that'd be hard to fill. I mean, Omaha does a pretty good job with events downtown (swim trials, march madness, CU basketball, supernovas, etc) but i didn't want to see this be too big an...

Re: Downtown Soccer Stadium (Abbott Drive)
Agree, it would be nice for Creighton. Right now, they can get 4,000 people but the stadium is so cavernous that it feels horrible. There just isn't any demand for their tickets. Maybe if they can build a nice stadium similar to Morrison with great downtown views and make it more fan-friendly peopl...

Great to hear! Really will improve that stretch of road when coming into town from the airport. “Welcome to Omaha! Behold our many stadiums” Lacrosse seems to be growing in popularity. Re: Downtown Soccer Stadium (Abbott Drive)
I've been told there are still a few things to work out with city of omaha until it's officially official, but I'm assuming that's infrastructure costs, etc. But, there is no expectation that it won't happen at this point. Just some jockeying between the city and team on some details. It is definite...

Re: Union Omaha 2024
Also, I'm not even sure SKC would agree to play at Werner. It's honestly a safety hazard at times. The fresh sod the other night was starting to peel all around the pitchers mound. That barely flies in USL League One, and certainly doesn't fly anymore in MLS. The only spot that still utilizes a base...

I hope they can find a bigger/better venue than Werner for that game, which I believe would be the first MLS match ever in NE. Nope. will actually be smaller, but that's fine. I'd assume the tickets will be almost exclusively for Union Omaha season ticket holders with a few going to SKC and maybe a...

Westroads, Crossroads, Southroads, Oak View. There was a time when Omaha had 4 shopping malls. Was The Center still an active mall during that time period? Heck, isn't it still crawling along now? I have only been to Stella's 1-2 times, but I didn't care for it b/c it was overpriced and came out on a napkin. The bun and burger were both stuck to it. Ok. pick any other local bar. Dinkers, Hyde's Slydes. You can get a better burger and support a non-chain restaurant for about the same price.
