I've seen the trails in Papillion open during the whole winter season. Â I believe they get on the sidewalks and trails almost as soon as they begin clearing the secondary roads. Â After everyone of the last big storms I've seen the trails open. Â Wonder if the other cities outside of Omaha that ha...

Sumtur Outdoor Amphitheater
Went to the Bjorn Again concert last night at Papillion's Sumtur Amphitheater. I loved ABBA, so really enjoyed the concert - the group did a great job, but: I was really impressed with the setting. Â The amphitheater sits in a bowl so the accoustics were great. Â We moved around during the evening ...

Geography of Jobs: Animated graphic 2004-2009
Pretty cool graphic on job growth/loss by MSA.
It is a map of the US and can't drill into a state or MSA level, so Omaha doesn't stand out the best... but still a nice representation.

Re: Recycle Bank for the Omaha area
I heard about this new service called Recycle Bank on the news so I checked out their website and when I went to sign up for the service, I was disappointed to learn that the Omaha area isn't set up for it yet. Do you think this program is something our area would even get involved in at some poi...

On 1620 Kevin and Mike'l reported that the details will be made public on Thursday. Sounds like the agreement is being emailed to the commissioners so it may get leaked before then. Greg Mary Wayne said that the Commissioners agenda should be up on the sarpy.com website thur morning. Â They almos...

Best Affordable Suburb in 2009
Whether you like suburbs or not is not my point of posting this item... posting it because the section is about Suburban Omaha and its relevant to that. Business Week last week published one of its various Best of lists.... this one looked at suburbs around the nation and picked what they thought wa...

With that expansion, that Amphitheatre is going to become a great regional draw. Â I could see some groups that would have usually just traveled down the interstate to get to Denver, Chicago, KC etc may now actually stop a night to put on a show just to fill there schedule. Also heard that the Omaha...

I do know I would attend more games in Sarpy. Â I go to about 3-4 a year at Rosenblatt. Â Downtown, I'd go maybe that many depending on the parking hassle. Â In Sarpy I would probably go once a month. I do believe a small new stadium will go a long ways in making the I-80 corridor a more regional t...

Re: Things that have changed since I left Omaha
One last question about Ames. In the same general area as the hospital was a restaurant that I always wanted to go to but never got the chances. It was on the north side of the street and the sign had a cartoon character fish or frog, can't remember which. I'm pretty sure it was a popular restauran...
