The last of the cats in the 1970’s era cat complex have been moved out. Female Snow leopard and cubs moved to Asian Highlands yesterday. I believe that demolition is planned for this fall. The Zoo’s Facebook page has a really good video with the Curator of Large Mammals on why the cat facility was d...

According to a news item from the Omaha Zoo Foundation website posted June 25 under “Omaha Does Coast at Zoofari” the zoo is expecting a baby rhino around Labor Day. For those of you with big bucks you can bid for naming rights. The blurb doesn’t specify whether it is the Indian or White Rhinoceros.

Who say's the Parking garage need's to be named? I don't know how they are going to solve this problem. Public transit was tried last year, but the zoo does not plan on using the shuttle bus and remote parking this year because of underutilization when they had it. More parking doesn't solve the problem of overcapacity streets and highway exit ram...

Looks like they are pulling the top part of the construction elevator on the hotel. They need to start dismantling it to finish the south side of the building. Probabably just removing the top section so they can finish the "brow", then pull the rest later.
