Re: 13th and William Revitalization
My guess is that the truck traffic there is historical to the Old Market/Jobbers area. If you go east on Pierce, there's Omaha Transloading. The Post Office, of course. South 24th has already been narrowed to two lanes and a turning lane. I can't imagine Omaha would want to redirect trucks to Hwy 75...

Re: 13th and William Revitalization
I agree that South 13th needs pedestrian improvements. We must consider that the street is an Omaha truck route. Until the that traffic is moved to 24th Street and Hwy 75, nothing will change on South 13th.

Re: Downtown Soccer Stadium (Abbott Drive)
Ok, I'll say it. The argument for the streetcar to the airport gains momentum. Again, still not going to happen. Have you looked at construction costs per mile of the streetcar. The city isn't going to back that unless there is major development along the route. As mentioned several times, a street...

You can see in the PDF posted above the columns line up in the parking floors and the office floors. The parking appears to be a complete podium at the bottom with office plates above - not really a tower surrounded on three sides by a garage.

Re: Mutual of Omaha Tower (14th & Farnam)
i found this article online; the writer quotes it as 'grotesque' which befuddled me. https://rivercityomaha.com/2022/10/mutual-of-omaha-skyscraper-updates-and-renderings/ A lot of people really dislike car dependency subsidies and think it destroys the character of cities. So adding over 2,000 park...

I agree there should be a permitting process, like any structures, but it's ridiculous to involve the city council. Omaha is decades behind in common sense planning reform.

Re: New 9 Story Building in Blackstone (SWC 37th & Farnam)
I tried to go back and read about this new development but couldn't find anything on why they are digging such a deep hole. Anyone know? Is it underground parking? I just see mentions of ground level retail, but not sure why they need to go 12 feet below ground. No floor plans except level 1, but I...

I lived in the apartments the first year it opened, on the 10th floor. I had amazing views. However, I lived directly above that underpass that lets people out the west side onto 12th street. Hmm, I see the sale in Oct 2020. NE Secretary of State site leads to Swan owning it and uses it as their office in filings, so maybe they will have a local headquarters or rent out office space. They currently have offices at 1905 Harney. Generic offices?

Check the parking garage snuck into the background. The city documents show only 30 spots. I consider this progress towards buildings that aren't all parking. We can design outside of the [5-over-1] box! https://rivercityomaha.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/dizzy-mule-millwork-commons-omaha-renderin...

I’m kind of glad they are less condo focused. If it’s a neighborhood focused on young professionals, condos should be a second thought after apartments. On the other hand... I got an update to this NextGen TV stuff. Four Omaha TV stations will start broadcasting the new updated version of digital over-the-air signals through a cooperative agreement to share a tower and transmitter near Gretna. The transmissions are set to begin April 19th. https://rivercityomaha.com/202...
