So now we expect him to devote that same rigor and care to another institution with 4 times as many students, another large chunk of employees and its own unique budget issues? How is that beneficial for either institution to have someone stretched thin on responsibilities? Maybe I am over estimati...

Is the interchange at 192nd street supposed to connect to the Platteview highway? The Platteview Road site leads me to think they want to connect to the Gretna exit, but 192nd seems like a viable alternative.

I think I liked the color of brick better in the earlier rendering, but I also noticed that there are now 3 balconies instead of 2. Better than that is to make a parking deck on the back half of the 2nd floor (only need 3 spots), and make the apartments into 3 townhouses on the 2nd/3rd floor with r...

Of course, I'd be in favor of keeping the current bridge if we could address it correctly. And by correct, I mean addressing the needs of pedestrians traveling between DT and N.DT. For example, click the link below to see how Chinatown has grown under the Manhattan Bridge in NYC. https://www.google....

Or are you saying to eliminate the interstate entirely and make it a city street? Yes. But... I think instead of 10 intersections, we need to only keep 10th street, 12th, 16th, and 20th. The on-ramp going west still picks up after 20th, bridging over 24th. The on-ramp going east would be redevelope...

Re: Downtown Interstate

It's definitely a barrier between NDT and downtown. Really the only option to eliminate it as a barrier would be to build a tunneled section through the downtown area that would emerge before the Missouri bridge. A project like that would most likely be in the possible billions of dollars range, so...

I can't even use the bus because the bus paths basically just exist to take people downtown. Yeah, another big problem with Omaha is that most transport in this city is designed to serve downtown. The street north of me (Dodge) and south of me (Harney) are basically freeways during the morning rush...

Increase ridership -> increase # of buses. This equation works both ways: increase # of buses (i.e. stops per hour) -> increase ridership. Also, dump some of that money into building an app for phones that tells you when buses are coming. For example, when I lived in NYC I used an app such as this (...

Re: Blackstone Business Improvement District

If there were a streetcar from UNO to downtown, it would get used. The streetcars have to be on 15 minute intervals, except after 10pm where it goes to 30 minutes. The reason why the OMetro doesn't get used as much is partly because of the stigma of riding the bus. If the City of Omaha were to dump ...
