Re: Omaha Beltway Discussion
We really need North-South western expressway. Too bad highway 6/31 is too far gone.

Re: I-80: 192nd & Capehart Interchange - Western Sarpy County
It's unbelievable this is taking and will continue to take that long. Omaha metro is so behind it's astounding. Im driving through Iowa right now and there is so much more progress it should be a wake up call for our local governments. I get they have 3x the population but even Des Moines has the So...

Re: Fairmont Creamery Building
Walked by on lunch break and noticed the for-sale signs were removed and according to the DC Assessor page there was a real estate transfer on 8/17/18 between Needham Properties INC and Fairmont Creamery LLC facilitated by Ryan Kuhel of Investors Realty. Also noticed Now Hiring signs on the building.

This is pretty vague schematic rendering...probably wont look anything like this. The intention is to show mass and organizational concepts.

City of Omaha Permits and Inspections - Huge Backlog
I have heard that a key employee of P&I has retired and there is a four month review time for commercial construction permits. This is completely unacceptable in this current construction and development climate. :grr: I encourage anyone in the construction or design industry to contact the mayo...

Re: Storage Units
These storage units need to be zoned industrial. They are incredibly ugly and a literally dead space for activity. Yes! Exactly. I think this might me outside city limits. Could that be why this passed? The city has zoning authority for three miles outside the limits. Didn't know that, thanks.

Re: Storage Units
You forgot to mention the storage units under construction on 192nd and Harrison, 192nd and Giles (Expanding existing), 180th and Harrison (North Side), 180th and Harrison (South Side) and 180th and Giles. That is going to be 5 new and 1 expanded facility within 1.2 miles of each other in a residen...

Storage Units
There seems to be a large amount of storage units popping up all over town. It looks like there is a Dino's Storage going up at 192nd and Q Street, directly on the corner in a mostly residential area. Something about this use of land irks me. Also the one going up at 72nd and Maple (I think thats it...

Re: Official: Capitol District
Its too bad they're finishing most of the exterior in EIFS, especially on a high rise. It really cheapens it up and it will look like |expletive| in 10 years, I guarantee it. Especially that blank east elevation...my god...so much EIFS.

Re: If The North Freeway Was Extended to I-680...
I wish Omaha was set up like Des Moines, where I-80 and I-35 bypasses downtown to the north and becomes 80/35. And 235 heads east/west into downtown for local traffic and continues to meet up with I-80 again. If you have ever driven 235 to downtown during rush hour, there is not a semi truck in sig...

Re: Upstream Brewing Company
I'm kinda sad its closing, but I thought something wasn't right when my wife and I were seated immediately on Valentine's Day, and there were plenty of empty tables on all floors. Overall I don't think i'll miss it as I always thought their beer was average and I am within spitting distance of the O...

Re: 168th Center-Pacific
168th Center to Q is needing this just as bad. Agreed. Add 180th to Pacific and 192nd to Pacific to the list as well. Most mornings NB 192nd is backed up from Center clear to F street, it's a disaster especially with the entrance to Lanoha's right there. Its amazing the population increase that has...

According to Yelp posts, the Parker's on Pacific St. is closed.

Too bad, it lasted only two years, give-or-take.

Sounds like soil surcharge, which is good as it means they are compacting the soil to prepare for foundation work.Uffda wrote:I happened to drive by Friday afternoon they have moved and piled up a lot of dirt and there is a lot of action has been going on.

Re: CWS and the Old Market
First time poster here, I walk around the OM almost everyday on my lunch breaks, and I can't help but notice how sh**ty the landscaping is, and how un-inviting and equally sh**ty the streetscape is (not talking about the 'charm' of the brick roads, etc). I don't think this really has a negative effe...
