Re: HyVee Growth Plans

From what I've been told, Hy-Vee wants to build in Bellevue, but Mayor Sanders is lukewarm to the idea. Her thinking is she wants new retail that would draw people to the area, not just shift it around. Does the Mayor of Bellevue really have any control over what specific businesses, such as Hy-Vee...

Re: Streetlight replacement with LED's

While in CB the other night, I noticed that even quite a few lights in residential neighborhoods have been converted to LED. Not quite sure why Omaha is lacking in this so much. Because OPPD currently owns the street lights in Omaha. There was an article in the Weird Herald about this not too long ...

Noticed a single LED streetlight on an exit ramp in Lincoln on Monday, out by the airport. I also notices some LED Streetlights in some of the small towns out in western Nebraska. Old Cheney Road in Lincoln between 70th & 84th (just south of where that house exploded) is fully LED lit. Color te...

Re: Toyota looking to build new US plant

Would Nebraska have the labor pool to staff a 1-2,000 employee car factory? Given the easy drive from Illinois and the economic collapse building there, I could see a big "No Problem!" line of UHauls heading west on I80. Given the situation with Cabela's, I'm sure it'd be a godsend for Si...

Honestly, 168th should have been widened 10+ years ago before traffic got so heavy to call it painful. I'm sorry, I very rarely go west of 680 and it truly is a different life. How are things out there? When 168th was built out to 3 lanes in the early 2000's Village Point and the 168th and Maple Wa...

I would tend to disagree. If you are basing it on having the development full and healthy as a whole, it's not been nearly as successful as other developments in the city. If we are trying to determine who the "winners" are, I'd say Westroads, Village Point, Gretna Outlets, and AkSarBen V...
