Re: 1200 Landmark Center

I'm sure the Mayor and Chamber of Commerce are already doing a lot to attract more companies and offices to locate downtown, but maybe they still need to step up the effort a few more notches. As long as they don't give away too much. Better mass transit to and from downtown would help too, of cour...

Re: 1200 Landmark Center

This will be a great project, assuming it happens. It's a good fit near the Old Market and will add more life to the area 24/7, even though it's sad to see yet more office space disappear from downtown. Glad to see APMA is the Architect too. That is too bad about the office space. The article notes...

Re: Official: Omaha Streetcar Discussion

Humans are always going to have errors because we’re human. We just can’t avoid the obvious advantage of lives saved by having a much safer driving situation. I don't think it's going to be that peachy. Machines, cumputers, and robots fail all the time for the very same reason. Also, I'd argue most...

more of a tertiary society that has a large service based industry. Well, I guess I don't find a lot of value in that. I think being young and born in a world where the USA has competition on the world stage has helped me to accept that fact that THINGS ARE GOING TO CHANGE, and each and every one of us has to adapt to a more diverse, advanced society and if you don’t you’ll be left behind. I disagree with fat inters...

So based on what little I know of air traffic, Eppley should be sufficiently long enough to support take off/landing of 747 aircraft. If you don't like paying the extra 1.75% tax, don't go there, as others have said. Mayor Stothert was reported to have said that. I think the issue with politics right now is the extreme polarization of the two parties in America. Most Americans DO lie around the middle of the spectrum and the leaders on both sides are on such extreme sides of the left and right that 1. No one is truly being represented and 2. There are just a...
