Re: Lincoln: NCAA Basketball Tournament Bid

Lincoln's arena would be fine for this event but they seem short on hotel rooms especially full-service hotel rooms. Also their airport hardly has any flight choices. The fun area around the arena would be a big selling point, however.

Re: Mixed-Use Project South of CHI Center

I don't have any details, but pulled this from the MECA Board Meeting minutes from February. It is from Jay Noddle: There is a mixed-use project to the south, which may impact some of MECA’s parking rights. What can this be? How far south does MECA's parking right go? Is Lot A going to be the first...

I have stayed at quite a few Omni hotels for business purposes over the past 5 years. They're great. Some of the newer ones are quite upscale, almost to the level of a Fairmont or Four Seasons. An Omni would be a great choice for our third "convention hotel."

Ironically the wall of trees that existed shielded this property from having to view the power sub station. Apparently the developer hadn’t thought much about that. They were old silver maple trees. They would be gone in a few years anyway. This part of town is full of silver maples that are all ne...
