Re: Zhev's Place (77 & Park Drive Ralston): Correct Architect Credit
I just want to make a correction to this thread: My company, Opticos Design, is the Design Architect for the Zhev's Place project (https://opticosdesign.com/work/zehvs-place/) and TRB are the local Architect of Record. I am a native of Columbus, NE, so I am super excited to see this project getting...

Re: Oak View Mall - Redevelopment Plan
I feel sorry for Oak View - have many fond memories of the place as a kid and do remember when its halcyon/'glory days'. That being said, I feel like the place is just wanting to die, but can't for a few reasons. -As mentioned multiple times on this thread, now that the Crossroads is gone, any spike...

Re: Sterling Ridge (Ironwood Country Club)
The development could've been better, but could've been a lot worse IMO. Office towers would've been nice on a few of those lots as ScrattyB suggested, but too many more would've risked making it overbuilt (better to leave bigger towers like that concentrated in already-existing developments). More ...

Re: Regency Lodge Redevelopment - 680 and Pacific
Here's my philosophy on our city's future, and none of us may ever live to see it happen, but I seriously believe in due time, all of these cookie cutter suburban neighborhoods will be our future ghetto areas. This is all simply because of the poor quality building standards these houses were held ...

Re: Oak View Mall - Redevelopment Plan
This is all speculative, but given that Oak View has lost 2 of its 4 anchor stores, its JCPenney's location *could* be on the chopping block https://www.businessinsider.com/moodys-jcpenney-could-close-more-stores-2019-4?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=topbar&utm_term=...

Re: HDR Aksarben Office
Those two or three little buildings caused a 14 story downtown addition to be built in a CBD-syphon-district at 10 floors. F' those worthless buildings. Better than giving in to corporate extortion, demoing whole blocks for a company and then having said company up and leave (with most of its jobs)...

Re: Photo Request Thread
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I was wondering if anyone had any pictures of the Westroads prior to its remodel in the early 90's (talking the 70s-Mid/Late 80's time frame) ?? Also of the chapel/heliport that was there as well.

Re: Ralston Arena (72 and Q)
This is good to hear for Ralston finally. Not to drag things too off-topic, but I'm a relatively new Mavericks hockey fan and was wondering whether Baxter ever sees anything from those ticket sales?

Re: HDR Aksarben Office
Longtime lurker, first time poster here. I've followed this HDR story elsewhere and can't help but conclude someone, somewhere else dropped the ball with regards to the issue of locating downtown. After ConAgra decided to pack up and move to Chicago, there was great anger & consternation, not on...
