I've dealt with several who will post reasonably competent messages. Then I go to respond to one, and see the masked URL for whichever overseas casino or whatever they are spamming for SEO reasons in the quote. If it's the eOmahaForums Lot B Mega Casino Resort and Hotel, you can click on that. It's...

That gas station was called Smacks. I must of spent $30,000 and then some in there over the years. Back in the 90s that place was actually the cats meow. They made a fortune off that place.

All of this is completely beside the point and another in a long string of red herrings by GrandpaSmucker to delve in to unrelated topics. The federal free/reduced lunch program has nothing to do with annexation nor transit vs road funding. What are you talking about? I don't like red herring or an...

Re: 2017 Annexation

I agree that some annexations are necessary to help the city prosper. But how much annexation is too much. If Omaha sprawls too far west then the long term costs will out weigh the short term gains. It'll also be harder to get a cohesive public transit system. It's a great way to bring in revenue f...

Re: Shadow Lake Towne Center (72nd and 370)

I would tend to disagree. If you are basing it on having the development full and healthy as a whole, it's not been nearly as successful as other developments in the city. If we are trying to determine who the "winners" are, I'd say Westroads, Village Point, Gretna Outlets, and AkSarBen V...

The folks that created and developed the Shadow Lake shopping area clearly cooked up a winner. Sure they have got some empty bays and lots, but times are tough. I have been in just about every Hy-Vee in town and the one at Shadow Lake looks like the biggest of them all and it is always packed. The T...

I'm so glad to hear it's a car dealership! I've been watching that dirt being moved around. That 144th & Giles intersection has remained unchanged since I lived as a child in the adjacent subdivision, starting in 1980. FINALLY it's changing. It's good to see. I always wonder what's going to be ...
