Re: Library Lot & West Gene Leahy Block Redevelopment
It's looking more and more like the over-under bets should pertain to the duration this lot sits empty not how many floors a shaky rumored mid-high rise building will be. I'm just hoping the location alone will prevent this lot from sitting as long as the Lanoha site.

Mcintosh Audio equipment For Sale
Just wanted to post these items on this forum before I sell and ship these pieces away. I would much rather sell locally to avoid the hassle of shipping. If you know of anyone who would be interested in these items please let me know. I have a Mcintosh C-15 Preamplifier, original boxes, remote, powe...

Re: W. Dale Clark Library Site
Did the mayor really say 14 story HQ tower? Why would she give a specific number or even a number at all. That's just strange. I have no doubts that there will be a new library built at the Civic site, however I really question how this is going to sit with the taxpayers of Omaha. If these plans do ...

I Remember Tetrad CEO Zach Wiegert stating he hopes the project will actually grow larger in time and that they will build a 40 story tower if the demand is there. Here we are a few years later looking right down the barrel of a new YMCA building and some landscaped green space. Crazy.....

Re: Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium
Wow, that's really coming along nicely. Should be a great addition to the zoo, especially for the younger kids. I'm not sure what to think about having that major crosswalk for the new parking lot on that round corner. They might have to find a way to really slow traffic down or go with pedestrian-t...

The office buildings will get built in some fashion, i have no doubts about that. Businesses that will locate in this development will WANT to be right there, and nothing going on at crossroads, AV, Boystown, etc will alter that at all.

Re: Official: Capitol District
So going back and looking at the original renderings it looks like they reduced the floor count by one and lowered the raised awnings on either end, which will lower the total height quite a bit. Overall though the hotel will look very similar to the original renderings which is great. The office bu...

10 floors of apartments on top of the first floor of retail, apartment amenities, etc. So 11 floors total, which means there's one more floor to go before being topped out.

The 19,000sq ft for the apartment building is the first floor/main level area. I'm assuming this is still right but who knows this is Omaha, so may...

Re: Downtown HDR Corporate Headquarters
I just can't see HDR'S new headquarters going anywhere but an open field along the West Dodge/Elkhorn corridor. It's just too late in the game for any urban site like MTC, AV, Lot B, or Crossroads. I totally agree. I can't see this going anywhere but the West Dodge corridor. All the Midtown Crossing talk, lot B talk, AV talk, Lanoha lot talk, is all pipe dreams. Driving down the West Dodge corridor today, i really analyzed the existing lots available for a company like HDR. I can't imagine FNB business park having nearly enough space for a headquarters. Yes, but nothing will ever get built on this (one great lot) because OPA will never, ever sell it. This lot will continue to be a vast concr...

I disagree with the limited downtown slots. Omaha has open lots all over the place downtown. Also, Ameritrade and Double Tree buildings would both be taller than anything we could possibly dream of building right now downtown. I'd be ecstatic to have something like the Ameritrade building downtown. ...

Wow, I guess this just proves nothing in the downtown Omaha development world is a for sure bet. We just can't catch a break when it comes to any height downtown.
