Re: Local Car Dealership thread

Mega Market is a flea market. I checked the place out back in 2013 or 14. Most of the stuff Dillion's didn't rip out when they shut down the Deerfield location was still there. I worked at that store for a few years, so it was a weird experience walking around.

The fact that both finalists simultaneously dropped out and released a joint statement seems to suggest they no longer wanted to deal with the board and/or administration.

Anytime you bring up the free market as a potential health care solution, people immediately scream that free markets are inhumane and accuse you of wanting rich people to have better health care.

The Woodhouse colossus put a Nissan dealership in Deerfield Place in Millard, temporary according to their spox. Left unsaid is that 'temporary' means until they get a location built at NE-50/370, I'll wager. This lot is called "Woodhouse Place" for some reason. Also, haven't seen Kara in...

It may be wise to invest in a dash cam these days. The camera might bite you in certain situations where you're at fault, but it would be a good CYA device in others.

I don't think that you'll ever see a city friendly slant to any article like that. I found it hilarious that they quoted Mello's jab at the mayor without publishing any specific plans from him regarding infrastructure and what he would do differently. I wonder if they even asked.

If the voters want to spend $120+ million on a streetcar system, they can only blame themselv...

It goes to show that ownership and management's willingness to maintain a restaurant sometimes trumps age. Rebuilds and remodels don't help business if the place isn't kept clean.

I got my survey packet from Nielsen. It's just a static timeline of which station is being watched on each television by whom for a week. No subjective input on TV markets. They also included $35 in beer money, so that's a nice touch.

The storm wasn't a bust; conditions were just favorable. Temperature stayed close to freezing for most of the day and the wind was calm. Roads are easy to treat with those variables.

If it was freezing rain followed by a severe temperature drop and strong winds, things would be different.

Gift cards to local businesses are a crapshoot. They are technically unsecured debt, so if the business closes, recovery of the cash value is not guaranteed.

Unless the gift card is to a large, stable company like Amazon you're better off just giving people cash.

Air shows are a good public relations tool. Taxpayers get to see in person part of what their billions in tax dollars are being spent on.

The shows are a resource drain though. Maybe scaling them back to a two year rotation, and/or switching with Lincoln Air Guard base would help.
