Re: Mega Saver (SEC 72 & Dodge Street)
I’m no fan of Meth Saver. That said, there is literally nothing that people who live around Elmwood Park (with the exception of me) would ever support. If anything gets changed, it’s a disaster to them. A developer could literally put in a business that did nothing but distribute free money and mac...

The existing stores might get the Casey's treatment too where they'll remodel some sites and turn them into Cadillacs, and the others will just get new signage and otherwise be left to disintegrate.

Paying with an app is handy at places that don't have tap to pay readers yet since magstripes that can be skimmed are still a thing.

I've had good luck with T-Mobile, but I have an unobstructed line of sight to the tower. I average around 200 megabits down, sometimes 300 on stuff I use Ethernet on.

The surprise new card might be the bank pushing out ones with tap to pay. See if there's a WiFi looking symbol on the new card compared to the old one. If people have a credit card they can pay in full every month, a smart thing to do is to use it for everything. That way if the card is compromised,...

Taqueria Tijuana on 24th and Q is pretty good too.
I preferred Bueno over the other chains. I guess opening the first store in an area where you couldn't throw a dead cat without hitting a restaurant, and the other one way the heck up North by Immanuel probably weren't good locations for success.

The Pac N Save in Seward has had an ACE Hardware on the South part of the store ever since I've been out here. You walk past it to get to the coolers in the SW corner, or the pharmacy, but outside of that, you don't really notice the place.

I switched to an indie pharmacy from Walgreens last year. The hours kind of stink with my work schedule, but the service is always super quick and helpful. Not waiting in line because the tech had to get a gallon of milk for someone in drive-thru is a plus.

According to the state, that landfill site was the primary, but Lincoln said no. Only after backlash about the initial selection did the city negotiate a deal.

Newer fuel dispensers typically have tap to pay readers, so Apple/Samsung/Google Pay will usually work. Due to the encryption involved in authorizing tap to pay transactions, it's as secure as EMV. I remember once fueling up at the Kwik Shop across the street from the now closed LJS on 48th and L St about a decade ago. The smell of that place running at maximum output during Lent mixed with the stagnant aroma of the meat packing plants down the road was.....interesting.
