Not quite as bad as Dino, but it has that cliche' inverted L frame on the facade over the corner that you see on almost every design now. Dino is just down-right hideous.

Re: Creighton Basketball 2016-2017

A big part of Creighton's lack of tournament success is they're too dependent on scoring, especially jump shots. By the end of the season, their legs are gone which causes poor shooting. This season's emphasis on transition offense made it worse. Patton and Foster didn't even have legs to finish la...

Re: Official: Omaha Streetcar Discussion

Omaha is fortunate that we have a fairly close neighbor (KC) that has recently installed a very similar streetcar system as to what is being proposed in Omaha. We simply need to watch that one for the next few years and see how it works out for them functionally and financially. KC has a larger popu...

Today I had some moron in an Black Chevy Tahoe :koko: tailgating at 45 mph, so close, that I couldn't even seen his front grill. There was no reason for it, we were on West Maple, and he could have easily gone around. This kind of dip stick thinks it's appropriate to tailgate to get you to change l...

Here are a couple of older photos, probably from the 30's or 40's, and another one after the Woodmen was built. This will definitely be a setback for other redevelopment in the area, including Crossroads. I'll bet there will be some really strong resistance, even though it has already been a strip club before. I wish they would build a rooftop bar/restaurant on the top of the M's Pub building. That would be a perfect corner location right in the heart of the Old Market. It's a lot less rediculous than some other things that have been demolished in Omaha to make way for other not-so-good ideas. I don't think it's very likely to happen, but I would see it as a way to fix a big mistake from the past.

I would rather have the city focus on restoring the street grid to the ConAgra campus than this. No argument with that, other than we need to multi-task to make downtown better and improve...

Until the double tree closes or is aged into obsolescence, it should be left alone. Sorry, you can't implode your mistakes. Find another way to make 16th Street work. That whole area from Jones north to Dodge, 72nd west to 74th, looks ripe for redevelopment. I could see a new NFM going in on part of that with a tie-in to their relatively new warehouse between Jones & Harney (behind Lowes.) NFM would probably only need Jones to Farnam, leaving space for more i...
