for the record, I will personally go to any city-council meeting, march in any parade, protest wherever i have to to keep Wal-Mart out of downtown. It would be the worst possible thing to ever be built down there in my opinion. I think your response is more of a blind hatred for a retailer than a c...

I thought we had a thread for that really big house in Linden Estates on Hamilton that was having trouble being sold after the owners got divorced a couple years ago, but I couldn't find it. Well its on the market again. $3.9 million: http://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/14243-Hamilton-...

Very little to do with attendance. It's television viewers and the sales of any sort of copyrighted materials including jerseys or anything displaying the team logos. That said, Omaha can look to KC as to why they will never be a major league city, KC can barely support the teams they have. KC can ...

The best chance of a pro team coming to Omaha is a toss up between the NBA and NFL. The NFL teams are easy to support, you only need to sell out maybe 10 games a year and then that's that. Â But having the Cheifs so close would be a roadblock for Omaha. As far as an NBA, it's hard to keep attendance...

Deciding to look at the 8th largest building in town and then not picking it because it's downtown when you know that's where it is in the first place sounds stupid to me. I still fail to see how selling $200 pairs of jeans downtown is a good business strategy. Maybe I'm wrong. Here is the eomahaforum's business plan. Re: Post & Nickel
Yeah Post and Nickel would never work in a downtown setting. Its not like their Lincoln store has been located downtown for decades or anything. How on Earth does downtown Lincoln have anything to do with downtown Omaha? Omaha is nearly 4 times the size of Lincoln, so Lincoln is a much more "...

Re: Post & Nickel
It makes plenty of sense, turns it into a city wide store instead of a predominately west O shop. P&N would have a far brighter future in North Downtown than they do at their current location. People from Dundee, Midtown, North O, or South O are not going to be buying $200 cashmere from P&...

Not that I have any endearment to CVS, but if this project went through I hope Post & Nickel remains in another location. I've thought for sometime downtown or midtown would be a better location for the store. Midtown Crossings obviously(if there's any space left) or my fantasy would be in No...

I was very happy (and surprised) to see the new student apartments on UNO's South Campus near AV. I agree with joeglow. Â The downtown library is a great idea, but the homeless ruined it. I'm not putting them down, I understand their situations, but they should not be hanging out in the library.
