Jim Vokal launched his Mayoral campaign tonight.

I got an automated call to participate in the town hall.  I can't believe there was no press on this.

We sure do.  We have over 500 prospects in our database that have either registered on the website, checked out the sales center, or called our phone.

I'm sure the hotel wouldn't mind the residents using their concierge services or ordering room services and I bet the residents wouldn't mind it either. :D

Close to 30% Is there a certain price range in which those are reserved and is there a common demographic reserving these units? Oh yeah, what is the reservation goal to get this project up and going? The lower floors reserved the quickest and now we are getting a ton of interest in combining large...

cdub, I've sent you a PM that I hope explains things.

Expect demolition of the existing old Vaterott building (where the 80 Dodge Condominium building will sit) after the $2 million renovation of Beverly Hills Plaza wraps up later this year or very early next year.

It would actually make more since to share some of the amenities with the hotel.  This would allow lower HOA dues for the residents.  It all depends on how the deal works out.

I agree with everything that Bobcat has said.  Well, worded. Let me also add this, the sales center has been open for LESS than a year.  One thing I have noticed lately is that the pricier buyers are more actively looking and reserving than the less pricier buyers.  Don't let the 19 units number foo...

I'm usually not critical of other sales centers, but these need some work in my personal opinion.  I think the decor is too old fashioned and needs to be more contemporary and urban.  That radio guys unit should be the model, that one is freaking sweet.  The look they went for instead looks too g...

They're probably doing that so it fits in better with the Old Market.  I don't think an all glass building would look good here, but I'm not an architect so take that with a grain of salt.

I think it can be a good thing that this building will be where it's at.  It's great infill and will spur even further development in the area.  If everything were downtown the ENTIRE CITY would suffer.  Sometimes you have to look at the entire city and not just downtown.  This is good for Omaha...

Wind, Soil, Bio, Geothermal, etc are way ...

MECA is doing a great job managing the Qwest Center.  Keep in mind they are still in the middle of negotiations.  Terms can still change and they may still find some common ground.  Also, both parties may be just blowing smoke to see who caves first.

Are you getting this from the website DTO?  If you are, you're sadly mistaken.  The "gray" unavailable units aren't being marketed yet, as in they haven't been sold.  The "yellow" available units are the only condos for sale right now.  They want to test the popularity of the...

If I remember correctly your moving from the Chicago area.  If so, make sure you get an authentic Chicago hotdog from Chicago Dawg House on 108th and Maple.  It's right in your area and might relieve some home sickness.  My friend Trevor owns it.

Omaha Mayoral Discussion

With Daub announcing plans to run for Mayor today, I thought it would be good to open a thread for us to discuss the candidates.

How do you think Daub will effect Omaha if he wins his former job back?

Not suprised by this announcement.  This has been brewing for a while in smokey backrooms and the Mayor said he was just waiting for the ballpark to make the announcement and piggy back it through.

This is already a done deal from what I've heard.

What an exciting time to be an Omahan!!

DTO, it was a backroom deal with the city in order to get Woodman to build that tall in the 1970's.
