What is the building that was torn down on Douglas Street for the Woodmen Tower Parking Garage? http://eomahaforums.com/download/file.php?id=308 The buildings on the current site of the woodman are (east to west), The Bee Newspaper building and then west, the Omaha City Hall. The "C" shap...

I was there that cool, crisp fall Sunday? morning (close to Thanksgiving, if I remember),watching with my now ex-wife, straight north, close to I-480. Also attended the implosion of the Medical Arts bldg...what a difference...nighttime, a cold miserable drizzle had been falling for hours, most of us...

Wow...For anyone that remembers this area (I shure do) which was mostly a brownfield, before ASARCO (lead smelter), the city dock, Arter scrap yard, UP shops/yard and all the other derelict rundown buildings and dead end (some dirt/gravel) streets that were bulldozed, what a dramatic change. I won't...

Check out the website (or not, take my word for it?)...#30, 'beautiful Omaha sunsets'... can't say I've ever seen the sun set in the east, as that's the direction this shot is aimed.

I don't know you personally, but this just smacks of "trolling"...sorry about the concept of "turnabout is fair play", but how can any of us suggest there are trolls on this website, if one of this blog's most staunch supporters delves into that realm, even if it's a "joke&q...

Maybe our version of Seattle's Pike Place Market? First and maybe second floor for produce/perishables, second/third floor for jewelry, candles/incense, restoration bits etc. shops...basement/track level...who knows? Hope I'm close.

I can address some of your questions...from what I know and observed, when they make Ice, they have to bring in a refer unit on a flatbed trailer, which is what they used to test the arena floor for ice shown in Brad's re-posted photo above. I'm told that utility connections for an on-site ice plant...

Re: Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium
Are they planning on removing the pool for the sea lions? That pool was there even before the zoo was formed. Riverview Park once had a swimming pool, which closed when the photo below was taken in 1940. The 1916 pool was buried in 1944. It was rediscovered in 1970, was reconstructed and became th...
