The purpose of the covered bridge is to protect the wooden membrane structure from the weather. Most of these were in remote areas and were built "covered" so they didn't need much maintenance.

I agree. Another example of this is in Papillion on 96th St just north of Hwy 370. They have grassy medians with trees, but 1/2 the trees are dead or in sad shape. Great job by the coaching staff. 2 big men for the 2018 season. I was beginning to wonder since they have recruited so many guards lately but the addition of these two should greatly help. By then, the last of the MVC players on the roster should be gone too.

Ok, I have to admit, I think the lights really add something to this garage. Totally changes the night time feel of the structure.

Although I am not a huge fan of the medians being there, they look nice too with the trees instead of just being concrete like so many other ones in the metro.

Just saw on Facebook that the zoo welcomed their 1,000,000th visitor for the year today. Last year, it was on July 3rd. So basically they are on pace to beat last year's attendance record of 2,046,171.
