They were moving pieces of the tower crane around on Friday too. I was thinking that they were going to assemble it then. It seems like they are taking forever to get this up.

The purpose of the covered bridge is to protect the wooden membrane structure from the weather. Most of these were in remote areas and were built "covered" so they didn't need much maintenance.

I agree. Another example of this is in Papillion on 96th St just north of Hwy 370. They have grassy medians with trees, but 1/2 the trees are dead or in sad shape.
