Amen buddy. I just had a pretty close call with an idiot bicyclist that tried passing me on the right while running a red light. That said, the smart ones seem to be in the majority. He too had a bit of an attitude until the cop sitting across the intersection told him he would have been at fault h...

After participating in yesterday's Corporate Cycling Challenge, it's easy to see why most motorists treat local cyclists with much disdain. They're a bunch of idiots. I couldn't believe how many cyclists were riding two or three wide, weaving or just didn't seem to have a clue of their surroundin...

Based on recent City Council action, I'd have to say that the tide of public opinion has turned against the Fire Union's runaway gravy train. I'd bet that most of the city council members have been getting a LOT of heat from angry constituents. Perhaps Omaha Fire Fighters will have to start living...

I've long wondered if/when somebody might transform these beautiful old buildings into something worthwhile. I was afraid they'd just be torn down, but it looks like good things are coming! Park Avenue makeover begins http://www.omaha.com/article/20110808/NEWS01/708089918/0#park-avenue-makeover-beg...

Trust me, I'm all for the hotel 11 stories or more. I just know some folks who looked at Jlofts and were told that the hotel building at that site would not be more then 5 stories. Why would they even want to live downtown if they don't like the idea of a new building popping up around them? Well.....

I would think that the Tea Party would want such things as sanitary facilities to be provided by the private sector. Should have had their party at Aksarben Village then. The Privately Funded Public Restrooms opened last month. Apparently default is not unknown to the Tea Party: On Monday Venetian...

I don't think anyone would disagree there needs to be balance, but who's definition of 'balance' are we going to use? And therein lies the problem with American culture today, nobody pays attention to what goes on in governance when the good times are a-rollin', and suddenly when they do, they focu...

What I was trying to say - I wonder if this 'pedestrian bridge' is only in the mind of the author of this story - if they mistook 'a bridge that unites the two areas', for a new bridge instead of the already existing Bristol St bridge as this brochure states will be redeveloped. I have to wonder to...

I would also say there are exponentially more people that have smoked marijuana and not moved on to harder stuff than the other way around. Alcohol, cigarettes and pharmaceuticals are more addictive and worse for your body than marijuana. If some ones opinion differs that is fine, I am not militan...

All I'm aware of are the historical plates. I know plenty of people with 'crazy low mileage' cars... as far as I can tell, they're registering them no differently. Maybe that's what I'm thinking of, but I didn't see that on the treasurer's site, either. I was always under the impression there was...
