I would agree with most of your statements IF Wal-Mart came into a town and ran all the businesses out and then RAISED prices. That's the sign of a monopoly. Someone who comes in runs out the competition and then jacks up prices and rapes consumers. Since Wal-Mart's operation and store motto is LOW ...

I don't think they should be outlawed if stupid people are willing to pay outrageous prices for luxury items then they should be able to. Now if it were some sort of necessity I would agree but these places sell luxury items that people really don't need but they want. If you can't afford things don...

Rod Kush's Closing!
http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=46&u_sid=2138183 Owner Rod Kush announced Wednesday that he is retiring to spend more time with his family. Kush, who has been in the furniture business for 18 years, said he had gotten to the point where "the businesses were running me, instead of me ru...

After the 2002 year didn't UNL cut many degree programs because of budget shortfalls? Wouldn't you think you'd get more students to come to college by having a better selection of degree choices rather than a cultural center? I doubt any one student will really choose UNL over another college simply...

I've taken some classes at the community college just to save some money. I recommend all kids start out at their local community college and then transfer to a UNO or UNL for thier 4 year degree. Most people downplay community colleges but in all reality I think I learned more at Metro than I did i...

It's pathetic how few students vote on these things. I personally voted against it because I think its ridiculous the cost of college. Plus I'm not too excited about the quality of education I have recieved from UNL. Pretty lame school if you ask me but I'm out of there in August. Then its off to ge...

Some of their suppliers have been quoted as saying they were current on their bills but apparantly they are concerned they won't stay that way. I know a drywaller that worked for them that has a claim of more than $100,000 against Benchmark. There is no quick fix for the problem with new homes, but...

Well it was rumored that Benchmark was having problems but no one had an idea of exactly how bad it was. New home construction is a tricky thing because most construction loans are for 80% so as a builder you need to cover the extra 20% with your own money. I don't know exactly how Benchmark is fund...

Cowboy you have great optimism but it's clouding your judgement. With all the new competition with the Village Pointe's and the new mall in Papio plus Westroads and Oakview could you really see a new store to the market bypass anyone of those to locate at the Crossroads? I don't see it happening. Th...

The CNN jab was jab by someone on the right who thinks that it's a liberal news show, however, financial figures don't come from the networks, they simply repost what has come from the government. I'm actually bullish on the economy, I think interest rates will stay low you will see growth in the stock market and therefore more spending by businesses. Plus small business', which account for a staggering 70% of new jobs, will and should be enticed by lower than normal interest rates. My opinon...

I've been to many of the Knights hockey games, I can tell you why they aren't successful. First, its $13 a ticket for the shitty seats. Second, the beer is $5.
