What they should do is run an express lane tunnel under Dodge from Memorial Park to Saddle Creek, then turn ground-level Dodge St. back into a two-lane local road going through a neighborhood. Traffic would still be able to flow east and west, and this section of Dundee would get it's pedestrian fri...

I wonder if the UFL is getting any money from CBS Sports for the games? Greg I have no facts to back up my assessment, but I guarantee the UFL is getting paid, if for no other reason than that a TV station is only a mechanism with which to sell ads. And you can only sell ads if you have content. So...

I take cabs all the time when I'm back in Omaha. Granted it's usually around Christmas time so I'm using the Safe Ride Home free cab deal. But when I have paid for cabs it's been reasonably priced compared to cabs in other similar sized cities. Or at least, that's what I seem to remember... ...

When 22 NBA teams lose money , I don't see enough support or money for a pro basketball team to be able to draw the crowds it would need to get into the black. I have to say, I don't understand your argument here. If 22 NBA teams lose money, then isn't that an argument saying Omaha could have an NB...

TRather than a city owned/chartered/whatever bus company, allow the market to determine the extent to which buses, or trains (highly unlikely here), or street cars are needed. OMG no! The whole point of this was that we agree that the West Dodge Expressway, by requiring a car to be utilized properly, is an excludable object not open to every member of the populace, yet it was and remains funded through taxes by every member of the populace. Except we don't all agree to that. A s...

What they should do is come up with a contract that privatizes public transit for a limited amount of time (say 15 years), then after that time, the city agrees to buy back the system at market value. That would encourage the private company to turn the system into an efficient and logical one, and ...

Then pretty much anything that is generally considered a public good becomes something else. A library is now excludable because the books themselves are excludable.
