Re: New HDR Corporate Headquarters

Awesome win for downtown Omaha! As a side note, it is established that HDR has an agreement with the city that no other buildings along Dodge street can block the view from HDR's office space on 84th & Dodge. Once HDR leaves that space, it might be an oppurtunity for some new infill or high rises.

That Irish Bar you're thinking of is "Two Fine Irishmen." That is not the typical suburban bar with TV's, soccer moms, etc, and it is not very kid friendly. It's kind of a dive with live music. There is another bar out on 180th and Harrison called "The Caddyshack" as well. That o...

Re: Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall(Gretna)

I work in Ashland now, and pass the Outlet mall everyday on my way to work. I also hit VooDoo Taco a couple times per month. The foot traffic is steady. When I worked at Northpark (120th and Blondo) I would go to Westroads regularly for lunch. I would say the weekly foot traffic is on par with Westr...

With the shortage of lots in Omaha and surrounding areas, I'm surprised you couldn't get the ball rolling on this soon. I'm glad to see the idea is still alive. I was excited about this developement back in 2006 when it was first announced.

I wouldn't call 401(k) a "loophole."  It is an incentive to promote private retirement savings.  It is promoted and used exactly how it is intended - no one is taking advantage of anything.   I don't feel like I'm entitled to this incentive either, and wouldn't care if it went away.  I...

Re: Saigon Restaurant (120th and Center) closed?

We drove by the Saigon Restaurant at 120th and Center on Saturday at 8 pm and the lights were off and the parking lot empty.  Their phone went unanswered and their web site is down. This would be a pity.  We ate there a month or so ago and everything seemed normal.  And the food was as good as ever...
