Agreed. Unless the soil toxicity doesn't allow for it, they should throw up some mid-rises on the sports field/event lawn on the west.

Depending on how low the wages are, there's research that shows it does the opposite of help the economy.

Either way Annexation should be a high priority. Why? The amount of land a city controls doesn't correlate to its success or financial prosperity. Yes it does. I’m going to guess that if they decide to put a location in Omaha, it'll be in suburbia. Around half of their Chicago area locations are in the suburbs. So are their Orlando locations which I think is the only other city they are in.

I think the Chalco powers-that-be saw the writing on the wall--there was no way they could get to 10k population that would make them annex-proof. Funny that no one has wanted to annex them, after all! I wonder why that is, to be honest. 40+ y/o houses, can't be a lot of debt after all these years....

I'm a little confused as to why they are pushing to develop this particular area of green space.

I think Bellevue should be encouraging growth to the west, closer to the rest of the urbanized area, rather than south.
