Aren't more and more of this rounds games being awarded to Domes? It will be interesting to see how big the stadiums are that get this. The final four is almost always played in the end of a dome. The Superdome and the Edward Jones Dome (St.Louis) have held it in recent years. Usually is makes for ...

It would be huge. But a streetcar system would also be huge. The Omaha poll indicated more people would rather see the streetcar thing happening than the ballpark being built. I believe a streetcar would spur more development than a ballpark. I would hate to see the streetcar project fall by the way...

There are hundreds of other bridges in Omaha that people could jump to their death. I a guessing Locke is a fresh law student trying to impress us with his knowledge he picked up in Torts I. Maybe you should spend more time studying for your final and less time posting irrelevant legal garbage. I se...

I agree with you that the 2+ billion dollar investment in Downtown Omaha was a key stimulus, but I think it is unfair to group a bunch of projects together and call them all the economic stimulus. I guess when I think of an economic driver/stimulus/catylist, I think of the first event that changed p...

Isn't the possible royals ballpark in Northdowntown suppose to be the economic driver for the area? Maybe I am mistaken. I guess I thought if a stadium would be built, more projects would be built around it - condos, retail, entertainment, maybe a trolly line. I guess I also thought more businesses ...

agreed jhuston. I think it is pretty expensive. I remember when OPPD was trying to put up the power lines along the keystone trail between pacific and center. A strong opposition from the community did not approve of the project and wanted them moved along 72nd street. I just recently noticed that t...

thanks coyote. I did not realize that park had a formal name. I went for a jog last night at 5:00 p.m. along the future trail. Near the end of my jog, I hit the unveiling meeting at the Dewey Park Center. The unveiling consisted of a couple people from the city parks and recreation department, maybe...

amighty tuna and michaelsjewel- it seems as though you guys hit several issues on the head. Do more lanes aleviate congestion? Is congestion the result of traffic bottling as a result of off-ramps that hold less capacity or is it a result of traffic moving from 3 to 2 lanes? Can extra interstate lan...

They could put one in the Kellom Shopping Center (name?) along Cuming Street. last time that I was in town there were several vacant bays in the strip center. J.C's chicago style deli and a subway or blimpies are already located in this shopping center. I doubt the existing tenants would care for t...

My vote goes out to Townsend as well. The AF building does seem to tie the area together nicely. The base resembles the Holland while the elevator shaft steaple resemles the First national tower (as jhuston pointed out). I am guessing the AF building would have roughly 25 floors. For some reason the...

In addition to Dundee and Benson I would check out the Field Club and Elmwood Park/Leavenworth Street neighborhoods. These are both older areas with a lot of character and are within a short drive from downtown. Zip codes are 68105 and 68106. You may want to check out http://www.npdodge.com for some...

Ooh, jazz music and wireless internet... I may have to try that on for size this weekend! Good for Scooters. I sixth it. Good for MECA and the City. I am not sure if anyone saw the interview with Hal on the news last night. The gist of the story was that Hilton Omaha was not doing as well as projected. His solution to increase profits was to add more rooms. Like the 2000 seat addition to the arena, a bigge...
