Re: Aloft Hotel - 180th and Harney

The one time I stayed at an Aloft hotel (Miami Doral) the room was BY FAR the largest room I have ever stayed in out of perhaps 500 hotel nights. Had to be over 1000 sq’. We paid for a standard room, and they liked my hisband’s shoes so much that they gave us the big upgrade for free.

I neglected to mention that most institutions of higher learning are located closer to a city center than in the periphery areas. They need to be on mass transit lines, for one thing. Omaha is very late to the party, even by U.S. standards, but I do see changes afoot. Where is most of the constructi...

Re: 1200 Landmark Center

It’s funny how many people growing up and living in the US perceive living in an urban core to be less than highly desirable. People in virtually the entire rest of the planet just scratch their heads at this notion. The urban core is where the arts and entertainment and civic centers of every great...

This is an incredible loss to the area’s restaurant scene. DQ’s pushed the envelope and expanded the variety of dining options for local residents. I think it is not an exaggeration to say that they have offered more diversity, originality, accessibility and panache to the dining scene than any othe...

It just so happens that I ran into the owners of the Diner over the weekend on the beach here in Puerto Vallarta. They just lost their longtime hostess/ waitress to a heart attack over the Christmas holidays. But they have no plans to close.

We own a house on the east side of 48th street, near Pacific. This will definitely change the feel of the neighborhood. Not sure whether it is good or bad from our financial viewpoint, but the neighborhood is very popular due to the huge influx of jobs at the Med Center.
