Does anyone remember the Italian restaurant Noah’s, which was open for several years where DJ’s is now? It was very good.
And I miss Hong Kong Cafe.

You can’t really un-autocentericize Omaha without first providing desirable multimodal alternatives. There are some, but they only get you so far. One of the better ways to go about it might be to scale up multimodal transportation while simultaneously scaling down parking. Along with scaling down ...

Depends on the plant. We planted pansies on March 29 and they are thriving in cooler weather. But they drooped those days when it got well into the 80s. Some plants love cooler weather and some like it hot.

I used to use that ramp all the time on my way from 80 East to Pacific Street. For at least 10 years they have had “Temporary” barrels blocking anyone from using that small stretch of pavement. I could resort to an earthy colloquialism to indicate that the State Department of Transportation should, ...

I’m too old to have ever cruised Dodge during the 1990s. But I do recall driving that stretch on weekend evenings back then, and the traffic was equal parts annoying and intimidating to other drivers. Not to mention the number of accidents. It’s amazing what a tiny amendment to our city ordinances a...

What are everyone's thoughts on Five Guys? Good, but pricy for an order-at-the-counter fast food experience. I guess that every city is different. And perhaps it varies from nation to nation as well. Where we live in Mexico virtually 100% of multi unit construction is condos. And I would estimate the split between single family vs. condo units being built is close to 40-60 (condos being the 60).

There are enough diners who don’t care where their food comes from, or whether a restaurant utilizes the freshest foods, given the season, and many chain restaurants know this. Think Applebees, for example. Though that chain seems to have largely imploded.

Agreed, this seems like a big win for the plaza. Cake Shop gets a shiny new store (it's currently pretty dirty and rundown, which the owner lady explains) and Ace Hardware, assumedly, get's a bigger spot with better parking. Cake lady should be hyping up the move. "We're going to have the newe...
