Re: I-80 As It Enters Omaha

I used to use that ramp all the time on my way from 80 East to Pacific Street. For at least 10 years they have had “Temporary” barrels blocking anyone from using that small stretch of pavement. I could resort to an earthy colloquialism to indicate that the State Department of Transportation should, ...

Re: ‘No Cruising’ signs

I’m too old to have ever cruised Dodge during the 1990s. But I do recall driving that stretch on weekend evenings back then, and the traffic was equal parts annoying and intimidating to other drivers. Not to mention the number of accidents. It’s amazing what a tiny amendment to our city ordinances a...

Sorry, but even as someone who drove this stretch of roadway for the better part of 35 years nearly daily (actually twice daily), on the top 1000 list of things that make me go “huh” this comes in at about 157,114. What I do scratch my head at is why they didn’t continue a 4th westbound lane from th...

What are everyone's thoughts on Five Guys? Good, but pricy for an order-at-the-counter fast food experience. You're not going to save any money over just taking the family to an affordable full service restaurant. The excess fries are their gimmick for fooling you into thinking it's a good value. D...

So our last freeze was April 5th, and there isn't one forecast in the foreseeable future. So cast your vote. Will our last freeze be 4/5? Yes A “hard” killing freeze (as opposed to a frost) requires the temperature to fall to 28 (-3c) or lower for 4 or more hours. That is unlikely to occur again be...

I guess that every city is different. And perhaps it varies from nation to nation as well. Where we live in Mexico virtually 100% of multi unit construction is condos. And I would estimate the split between single family vs. condo units being built is close to 40-60 (condos being the 60).

There are enough diners who don’t care where their food comes from, or whether a restaurant utilizes the freshest foods, given the season, and many chain restaurants know this. Think Applebees, for example. Though that chain seems to have largely imploded.
