Re: Mutual Tower on the Library Lot

Mayor Jean said 45-50 floors on GO this morning. Also - HVAC will be incorporated in the floor plates differently than the FNB building, so it may be taller even though the number of floors may be equal or less.

Re: Lake Zorinsky

Does anyone know what the status of this situation is? I haven't been out to Zorinsky in a while to see. As an aside, I think this could be a good opportunity to make lemonade out of lemons. With the clearing of this land, it would be a great time to establish an unpaved hiking/biking trail around t...

Re: Nebraska Medicine

I too was skeptical of the 40 story claim - particularly because of some of the concerns others have raised here. But even if it is half that, I know the facilities at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago and some of those buildings have some significant vertical presence, even at far less than 40 stori...

Re: Nebraska Medicine

A friend at a prominent construction company told me that due to the limited footprint, they are looking at significant height for this structure. He said approximately 40 stories. Perhaps that accounts for the price tag being so high. However, if they end up razing other buildings and having multip...

From what I heard a month or so ago, you are correct. A friend from Kewit told me there were financing issues and this was not going to happen.

As a Central Alum, when I heard about this project, I was concerned with it changing the character of the building. A few observations: First, I love the amount of brick used here and the detail on the south and east sides - really makes it fit into the neighborhood. Second, the size of this building will take some getting used to. I have been by every few weeks and it still looks huge. Finally, I don't know if i...

Sound like an opportunity for first floor retail - gas station with 1000' residential tower above. Perfect plan.

I hope for some significant height on this project, though I think anything 200'+ is a skyline changer - especially based on its location. Fingers crossed.

Just heard on Lincoln radio that the Governor signed the $71 Million budget bill which includes some of the money for this project. They didn't say how the money would be divided up amongst this and two other university projects, but this is good news for this project.
