Re: South Highway 75/Missouri River Bridge Construction

I take Kennedy Freeway South and take this new road over the Missouri and I29 and head east on Hwy 34. Google Maps said it was a little quicker than going on I80 through Council Bluffs even considering there is a stoplight to get off of Hwy 75 and get onto the new Hwy 34 bridge. It's a nice road alt...

Re: The Joslyn Art Museum

I saw this too. Josef Albers was featured with Warhol as well, I think his work was called Homage to the Square. Another artist there was Stella. Not as many pieces as I remember from the Poseidon exhibit last year, which was awesome with the giant trident, but it was worth the $10.

Transportation Plan Update.

I'd like to see some language or even some action in recognizing or making some major trails like the Keystone and Big Papio as options for some people to commute when the weather is okay like spring and fall.  TD Ameritrade is one example of a major employer right on a trail.  Some people live ri...

I wonder if the light green color will be the final exterior?  It looks kind of cool, especially heading north on I-680 and from the Big Papio Trail, but I wonder if it will look good in 30 years.  I guess it's not that important considering all of the jobs there will be to fill the place.

There was a lot of lighting last night.  Good pictures!  Some of the clouds before sunset were really unique too.

-I'd like to see a bike lane too. We'll work on that.
It would be great to see the safer type of lane where the cyclists ride between parked cars and the sidewalk, as opposed to riding between moving traffic and parked cars.

I recently copied and pasted a Youtube link into an email I sent and it automatically turned it into an embedded video for me.  I wonder if that could potentially be a felony for me for pasting the link or for my email company turning it into a video.

I ate at Petrow's for lunch and everyone liked their food and service.  It's good to see an old neighborhood place take pride in its property.  I didn't know they had an old fashioned soda fountain and want to go back for that.

I saw these the other day and they're even bigger in person than in photos or from the interstate.  There's enormous potential for energy from these, but that can't be the only form of energy.  In the summer the wind slows down on a lot of hot, humid days.

I had a weekend lunch at Jazz recently and everyone liked their food.  It was everybody's first time there and the staff and food where good.  Service was a little slower than some people might expect, but none of us minded.

I'm ok if it has a lot of amineties and grocery, shopping etc nearby.
There are groceries at Aksarben, but I'm not sure about shopping.  Two amenities are the theater and the Keystone Trail that goes close by.

it is really due for a widening--many areas are dangerously narrow to be "multi-use" This could be an issue with the underpasses where there is a wall to one side and the creek to the other. Another thing about the trail is that it's less hilly than Omaha because it follows the waterway, ...

I rode about 80 blocks worth of the Keystone Trail in Omaha and it's a great asset for Omaha.  I love how it connects to the streets and even has street signs on it, but you can actually avoid all the streets with the underpasses.  It's great fun, but it could really get you across large parts of ...

Lighting up downtown

I'm not sure what building it is or what business goes on there, but the closer of the two red brick buildings stuck together on the left is normally dark at night and I thought it would be great if a percentage of the lights could be left on at night.  It may not be the most efficient, but it woul...

Missouri River uses

The first plaque on the right coming from Nebraska gives a good description of the uses for the river from barge traffic to the river's ecosystem.  Farming in the valley and recreation are other things to balance.  I believe Omaha uses the riverfront best for urban life, of the cities along it, es...

Last year the pothole problem that I had the worst experience with was south on 84th from I80 to Q, I think.  The right lane, specifically, was very bad.  Although it's not my daily route, westward on Ames from the North Freeway to almost 50th or so is very bad in the right lane.

I did my shopping a couple of snow storms ago here and I really like the location.  I went during the storm and there weren't many people there, unsurprisingly.  The groceries are more mainstream than I thought they'd be, but this was my first time at a Wohlner's.  My parking garage ticket was un...

Pothole problem

I've been driving over some of the same potholes for a couple of weeks now.  I hope I don't veer at the last second to miss a big one and sideswipe a car in another lane!
