There is a Taste of Omaha festival, but I don't know when it is scheduled. The last weekend of June is the Summer Arts Festival downtown.

I'm thinking something is going to be set off on top of a building. The map on the Holiday Lights website shoes the streets blocked off around the FNC during the time of the fireworks show.

Before I moved from Minneapolis, construction began on the light rail line from MOA to downtown. It stops at the MSP airport. At the same time, they were constructing a massive parking garage addition.

Perhaps Express Jet will come through. They recently started non-stop service to Ontario/LA & San Diego. Service to SF area has been desired for quite some time.

Right on! Spending a few years living elsewhere can help you realize all the special things Omaha has and the special place it is. I always liked Omaha, but I came to realize how much  I LOVE Omaha during my "away" years. Glad to hear you're moving back.

The responsibility along the interstates is not the City of Omaha's - it is the state's. I would encourage communication with the State Dept of Roads regarding landscaping/trees. I too wish there were more trees along the freeways.

At the Air Tran website, they talk about growth at Baltimore. It would be nice if that growth would include service to OMA and not just Atlanta. Time will tell.

I'm not putting a lot of significance into "important." I think that word was used to make us feel good. I agree regarding the need for expanded service to the cities mentioned. I hope Midwest does plan on adding some additional destinations for Omaha.

Hopefully, if Omaha really is an "important city" for Midwest, Omaha will see additional service to other cities during 2007. I'm glad to see they are re-instituting service to LA. It's great that Omahans now have 2 LA airports to choose from.
