Re: The Crossroads (72 & Dodge)
With the newly revised Crossroads passing planning board in the last month would it be unreasonable to think that the new TIF request will probably go before and most likely be approved by the city council within the next month or so? If so would it be unreasonable for construction to start going ve...

Re: North Saddle Creek improvement
They need to repave or overlay the Peanut. Something needs to be done at the 5 way. At evening rush hour it backs up onto Saddle Creek. If the Apartment gets built, it will only get worse. I think one of the new stories I saw said the 5 way was going to become a 4 way. Not sure how this improves th...

Re: Downtown Soccer Stadium (Abbott Drive)
So cool to see this finally come about and definitely pleased with the location . I saw a couple of posts above where the offer was rescinded to build next to Hot Shops and can't help but thinking this was probably for the best. Does anybody else think where the stadium is going now might actually s...

Re: Omaha Streetcar Discussion
In yesterday's OWH there was an article about street closures for utility relocation for the streetcar. I could not read it all because I no longer have a subscription. It mentioned several streets and about half a dozen locations that were soon to be blocked off for this. Clearly this type of work ...

I guess I don't mind some advertising on cars if it helps pay the bills. However, it would be nice if that could be done in a way that wasn't totally tacky or over the top. The example you provided isn't too bad.

As far as appearance is concerned, I tend to prefer a simple, clean look, something like a graphite grey or white car with small color accents. Big windows...

Curious if anyone is close to Union Soccer and free to comment on how the postponement of the 10th and Cass streetcar line might impact the decision to build a new stadium downtown. Re: Omaha Streetcar Discussion
I see that the Streetcar Authority has decided to postpone the stretch of track that was to go down 10th and Capital in an effort to prevent cost overruns and focus on more north/south expansion. Admittedly that is kind of a bummer as that particular station probably would have been one of the ones ...

Cool, just 10 feet shy of the one at 30 Rock this year per USA Today.
The Rockefeller Center has chosen its Christmas tree for the 2023 holiday season. This year's tree is an 80-foot tall Norway Spruce from Vestal, New York, the Rockefeller Center announced on its website.

Sounds incredible. I would love to try it. Have you heard anything about them getting a brick and mortar place? Also, I wish Omaha would get a good stand alone German restaurant. Crescent Moon and Rathskeller are great but I'm talking about another Gerta's or Edelweiss. Seems like there is enough Ba...

Nice catch. I've been waiting for some news like this so thank you for sharing. I am also glad to hear it is tied to the Sherwood Foundation. Re: Heartland of America Park
So after about a half dozen visits to this new park it is really becoming clear to me that this new influx of people in the park is not a temporary thing. Cowboy called it an "urban masterpiece" which I believe is true. Hence, there's not much more one can add to that. However, what I have...

Just imagine this event and others once the streetcar is running. I can see them running continuously and completely full every 15 minutes up to MTC and Blackstone and back. It will no doubt make for a lively corridor and increased activity at all points in between.

Went to the Sunday game of the championship series and yeah....craziest championship series ever. On another note as it relates to CWS changes, I didn't notice any of the banner towing airplanes like have always been the case in the past. Maybee it was just windy but I don't know. Re: 2023 CWS
Good point on the cashless policy. Cashless doesn't really bother me nor does getting the tickets via phone. What surprised me more than anything was the jump in ticket prices and how apparently there really is no more GA. FWIW, yep Tuna...I am sure that stadium expansion will most likely be brought...
Re: 2023 CWS
Interesting. So the days of lines wrapping outside are now more? Seems like attendance is still the same so how does guaranteeing a seat for everybody work with the bleachers? Are they actually numbered so it's like there really is no GA? I know in the past they just let however many people in until...
Re: 2023 CWS
So I was looking at going to at least one game this time around and apparently things have changed with the CWS. I haven't been since 2019 and the most striking change is clearly the ticket prices. While I like all the examples, I too would like to see something a little mo...
