Re: What does Omaha need?

What comes to mind for me is a better vision of where Omaha wants to go and more entertainment options. I will break down some ideas. 1. Better vision when it comes to transit and economic development. Omaha tends to have a mindset of any business developed is good for the city. For example, CVS is ...

How about using a double decker bus for 13th st? It gives off a tourist vibe, but cheaper than rail.

Re: Official: Omaha Streetcar Discussion

Some nice artsy buses that circulate around midtown/downtown like the Orlando Convention Center bus circuit that connect to the rest of the bus system at both east and west ends would be great for that area and affordable to run even free like in Orlando. Rail is over rated. I would rather see good...

To address to complaints of cost of streetcar and maintenance... People seem to think driving on roads are free so why would a streetcar make sense. How much revenue does the Dodge expressway bring in?...$0. If you take away government money, we could better see the actual cost of transportation. If...

Re: Official: Omaha Streetcar Discussion

I'm all for streetcars/ light rail in Omaha, but I'm against the Farnam St proposal. Terrible location with minimal economic gain. Developments are going up without it and I can't see a lot of ridership from UNMC to downtown. We need to stop pushing the streetcar idea for the purpose of making midto...

From my impression, it reminds me of Woot. They have daily deals where people rush into to get until all sold. Mix that with in person shopping, we can experience Black Friday Stampedes on a daily basis!

Omaha's Population Density vs Land Space

Found this article on population density of Omaha. I constantly hear from out-of-towners that Omaha is a small city in terms on land. But in terms of population density, should land size really matter? Thought I would pass along... https://www.sparefoot.com/self-storage/blog/visualizing-omahas-popul...

I wonder if the Target building could support adding on more floors? If they could add 2-3 floors on top of apartments and/or office space, that's would be cool. This concept would be similar construction to the Lerner building on 16th street.
