Re: Mega Saver (SEC 72 & Dodge Street)

How can the real estate be affordable for a mega saver? I would think commercial land would be millions at 72nd and Dodge. They paid 3.7 Million for it. I think this is the crazy part. Any gas station brand would have to sell a ton of slushies and snacks to recoup their investment. They really don'...

Is this corner still fighting homeless hovering around in the area? Panhandling issues?

A Megasaver will only magnify the problem. It will be like bugs drawn to a bug zapper.

Re: Mega Saver (SEC 72 & Dodge Street)

The city needs to be focusing on density here, not anything goes mindset. I'm not opposed to a convenience store, it's the gas pump and the car traffic it brings is the problem. It's already a congested corner as it is. I would like to see a 4 or 5 story apartment complex with ground floor commercia...

Does Megasaver know you can't turn left on Dodge. Most of your traffic is Eastbound on Dodge or cutting through the neighborhood. If we wanted to be jerks, tell the neighbors to put up cones in the street. Signs that say pedestrian street, cars not allowed. People would get so annoyed they can't cut...

Re: Mega Saver (SEC 72 & Dodge Street)

This should be a mixed use-dense development here to strengthen the area, not a gas station. Complete opposite direction! When has a Mega Saver ever brought value to a neighborhood?

Can the planning board block the approval? Sorry....too close to the BRT line!

Feels like a lot of code for "against the streetcar". C'mon Omaha we can do better. If this is where this is heading, anyone not 110% on with transit and the streetcar won't have my vote. It's still pretty early for candidates to jump in. I can't imagine a candidate that wants to count ev...

I definitely agree we need to invest more in our transit. I'm more in favor of on street transfers, though. These can definitely be made better through better infrastructure. The routes are more direct and efficient rather than the hub and spoke method Metro tried in the early 2000's. I get why the...

Des Moines spending more than Omaha in transit. This extension is basically building a historic streetcar line in the way it functions. There is a reason why we don't build them anymore. Buses are cheaper and out perform these old streetcars. I'm not a fan of only 2 candidates advance to final round for Mayor. We claim it's all non-partisan, but we know the final 2 are always red vs blue.
