Re: Grand Island Rumor Mill

Would anyone be willing to go to a restaurant similar to IHOP or the egg and i but only ran by someone from Grand Island? We prefer to eat at locally run places here. Chains have a habit of fading to mediocrity trying to be everything to everyone. A restaurant that is run by someone with an idea an...

Charred will be open next week. Possibly/probably Monday. Had dinner there tonight. Service was rough, but to be expected for opening weekend. The cheese curds were tasty. Charge a ton, get no Creighton party boys and no Section 8. Your apartments become sellable to new people moving in from other cities where big $ rents are normal, but living in a Frat or in a welfare hotel is not.

Paid my way through pre-med working for Millard Lumber. The end of the residential construction in Regency was happening in the late 70's and early 80's. I'm all for streetcars/ light rail in Omaha, but I'm against the Farnam St proposal. Terrible location with minimal economic gain. Developments are going up without it and I can't see a lot of ridership from UNMC to downtown. We need to stop pushing the streetcar idea for the purpose of making midt...
