The numbers for the Rail dont make any sense to anyone who can do math, so look realistically at what this is - corporate welfare for Mutual of Omaha, the company that designs the Rail (HDR), the company that builds the Rail (Kiewit), and the company that manages the Rail (some relative of a city o...

My guess is the market is more competitive and they found greener pastures to pursue. Perhaps some of their current districts offered to pay them to stay maybe? Both of these are likely. Honestly, if you were really good at that job, and an offer came in from a school district with serious structur...

Anytime you bring up the free market as a potential health care solution, people immediately scream that free markets are inhumane and accuse you of wanting rich people to have better health care. The only problem with the free market approach is that in a free market some stuff doesn't get covered...

Sorry busguy, but this will prove to be a very expensive false start that will ultimately put us further away from our goal of a functional mass transit solution. Its one thing to have a skin bar in the outskirts of town, but to have one a half block south of the Crossroads, where we are contemplating spending huge money on redeveloping it, means we get another variable that makes it harder to attract outside investment.
