If anyone is wondering, the actual bus Megabus uses out of Omaha is a single-decker...not the double-deckers they're (i think) famous for. Or maybe it varies based on passenger volume. 2 weeks ago I took it from Omaha to Chicago. There were no problems along the way. Okay, actually there was a probl...

That IS a really lame name.

Any more details about the plans for this building? What kind of facilities will it have, and what kind of events are they aiming to attract?

Is the other fountain still broken?
Well can't they replace it with something really new?

And what other fountain are you talking about?

Some internet fighting broke out and some posts got deleted. I don't remember what they said but I guess that's one of the things they said.

A new strip with a better look?  And landscaping? I was hoping for a new strip with an uglier look and the same zero landscaping.  This strip has been an eyesore in an otherwise thriving neighborhood for 20 years.  It is the ugliest strip mall of its size anywhere in Omaha, which just baffles me as...

Omababe wrote:Here's a question that came up yesterday.

Does Megabus allow smoking?

If so, do they have an isolated non-smoking section?
I rode from Chicago to Des Moines in early July. No smoking is allowed anywhere. Which is good because to be honest, the airflow in the bus is not impressive.

Senior Matias is closing? Are you serious? I passed by that place so many times from age 0-19, and I never once got to find out what was really inside...

and...does anyone think this area could be re-zoned for residential? there are houses all up 90th street north of there.

Hey everyone, Megabus just added a service that goes from Omaha to Des Moines, Iowa City, and Chicago. Or rather, they simply extended the Des Moines-Iowa City-Chicago service to Omaha. I want to believe that my email (sent in early July) convinced them to do it, but knowing big corporations that pr...

How reliable is their all flash storage? I just sort of cringe when I think about this. Do you have backup for this? I use time capsule as a sort of system backup. 90% of my work is in the cloud anyway, though. If you're heavy into photo or video, I might not recommend it.   I suppose we all skippe...

Big E -- I think an Apple campus Store would be a step up from a typical reseller like Nfm/BestBuy http://education.apple.com/locate/buyoncampus/ It talks about in house training and workshops which NFM/BB don't offer and I think they can offer the education discounts which a reseller like NFM/BB d...

It looks like a swamp in the woods around NP Dodge Park. My parents are miffed that they haven't been able to go fishing all year. Apparently, all the parks lining the Missouri have been closed the whole year. I hope no major catastrophes result from the river flooding. Isn't the max height suppose...

Not to derail the 4G conversation, but I would recommend Sprint. It's not perfect, but in Omaha it's very good. I can only think of 2 main issues: At my home, I get 1 bar of reception. If I walk a block away from my home, I lose it completely. In some parts of the UNO campus, I don't get reception. ...

I've heard that the Donut Stop on South 13 St is a late-night study place. Donut Stop would be a big mistake. Loud teenagers (such as myself ;)) playing board games, chatting, and generally being obnoxious. I would be surprised if the universities in Omaha didn't have libraries that stay open late....
