Emirates, Turkish, or Virgin Atlantic?
Closest Emirates gets to Omaha is Chicago and Dallas. Might be a bit of a squeeze for the heavies but it could work.

Omaha Interdimensional Quantumport,
Let's go all the way!
I am so glad this project is starting. It will be interesting to see what permanent international flights we can get. Canada and Central and South America also possible. Not sure about direct European flights, but who knows.

Re: Lincoln Airport (LNK)
For the Hawaii flight, 3800 miles, you would need an A330 NEO or similar, possibly a 737 Max 7 or A321 neo. I doubt if there would be enough demand to fill the A330 but the airport has enough runway for it.

One more of the original 11 sections left to go. It's hooked up to the crane Cables but still on the ground. The initial height of this tower crane should equal the UP hq.

I count 11 tower crane section for the east (yellow) crane and the crane cab. In the east lot there are more parts for the tower crane arm on the ground.

From my point of view at work I see about one third of the hole has been filled to street level from the north side. The fill dirt is topped with gravel. Maybe it's a soil prep thing, compaction, maybe they are not going to commit to full construction until the street car is a done deal and ready fo...

Another idea for the beams is support for a retaining wall after the library moat walls are removed. I'm sure they will go down at least two more floors before foundation piles are drilled. I get a ringside view of this project from work so it will be fun to watch.

Re: Mutual of Omaha Tower (14th & Farnam)
Why not shoot for 850 feet? When First National announced the height of their tower I was amused that it was just a few feet taller than the tallest in DM and KC. At 850 it would be the tallest from Chicago to the west coast and from Dallas, and iirc, north to the north pole. And if you continue bey...

I participated in the parade. It was 13 degrees when we lined up. I was with a group of cosplayers that included Ghostbusters and two of their cars. A Jedi, two super heros. Two characters from Harry Potter, Professor Slughorn (me), and Bellatrix in her jail uniform. Had fun once we started moving.

I think Nebport5 is on to something when talking about "The Apex" getting " blocked out" by whatever is built on the library site. If they can't be the signature building at the end of the mall they might as well maximize the sites rentable space. I like the look.

While tall is tall and I will enjoy any good design, I wonder if they could keep the height interval between buildings. The Woodmen at 478, FNBO at 634, New building with the same 156 difference? 790 feet?
Just have to wait and see.

Lets dream and make this the start of the next metro ring road. Cross the river between Desoto Bend and Wilson's Island (but elevated over the river valley so it doesn't flood like 680). Ok, pure dreaming on my part. Mutual takes a hint from the NYC Hudson Yards project and builds a 25 story 1.1 million sq ft tower over 480 between 28th and 29th, Dodge to Douglas. Closer to the skyline, new third tallest with a lovely logo visible in wide shots during the CWS and from Turner park. :...
