The new Husker plates clearly didn’t go through any sort of real-world testing before going to production. The plates are nearly impossible to read from 20 feet out. Makes me wonder if they’ll end up eventually recalling the plates or updating the design… They look like some kind of real world Capt...

Thunderhead Brewery out of Kearney will be opening a Tap Room at 132nd and West Center. I just talked to the manager and he said they are shooting for the first week of October, and they also plan on opening Tap Rooms in Lincoln and South Sioux City. I saw a large sign posted by my dentist's office...

At St Wenceslaus the other night, Jay said that they had been in contact with most of the top 100-125 retailers who do not already have a presence in Nebraska, and that there was a lot of interest in the project.

My recollection is that our zoo would have the ability and facilities to grow enough bamboo for a pair of pandas, but the lease agreement would have required them to purchase bamboo directly from China. Anyone else remember hearing something like that?

Went to the Omaha Tap House on Saturday before the Symphony/Eagles concert. Agree with the sentiment that the food and beer is better than the service.

Has anybody heard any updates on Caelinn Leahy? She was competing in the "High Junior" session on Saturday afternoon and took a bad fall. She was taken out on the back board, but was conscious when the ambulance left the arena.

I took my dad's collection to Tuva Sports cards/memorabilia, by the Russel Stover's across from NFM. He took a look at the loose stamps as well as the albums. It wasn't worth much, as it was basically a kid's collection.

I remember stopping at Evans; must have been in the early 70's. Does anybody remember what the "Red Baron" challenge was? My recollection is that is was a LOT of scoops of ice cream and a matching number of bananas, but I can't be specific about the number.

I got the combo platter to go today, and I agree that all three meats are good choices. The seasoning on the meat and the rice is spot-on and quite delicious. The salad was a bit different, and I'm not much of a salad lover, but it looks like a salad that my wife would like.

The Market Basket has been open for decades, serving brunch, lunch and dinner.


Also, Mt Fuji Inn and the Mai Tai Lounge were in the Market Basket location back in the 70's, until a fire inspired the move to 73rd and Blondo.
