Re: Blackstone Business Improvement District
This was actually a great excuse to procrastinate during my workday, but I believe based on the address that the original mansion belonged to someone named L.M Lord. The Durham archives online have quite a few pictures. Here is the other house you mentioned. It's known as the Wattles House and was ...

Re: The Peregrine Hotel (203 S 18th St)
I drive by the building every so often, and it's looking really good. The building was in fact granted local landmark status in 2017. I think this will be great for this part of downtown, especially with the Logan Building also being renovated.

Re: Dundee Theater
The renovation of the Dundee Theater (Filmstreams) was important, but not if it means destroying the character of the surrounding neighborhood to support it. I rather it stayed abandoned if this demolition is just for parking. I guess if you have a lot of money you can do whatever you want, however...

Re: Former Hinky Dinky in Benson?!?
I was just going to ask about this. Some later alterations were recently removed from the building, and you can now see a sweet Hinky Dinky ghost sign on the east wall. I'd love to see another grocery take off the spot! Seems like a good place for one.

I drove by the old streetcar barn on 26th and Lake today, and noticed that more than half of the building had been demolished. Was there any notice from the city on this? Not sure if part of the building will be preserved, but it's not looking good for this structure. It's a contributing member of ...

I’ve been to Albuquerque several times, it’s Omaha’s southwest Twin. They are both similar in size. Albuquerque has better scenery and weather, but Omaha’s economy I believe is better and more diverse. TV show Breaking Bad really helped Albuquerque get exposure and publicity, Much like Warren Buffe...

Re: MUD HQ building in jeopardy of demolition
MUD also has an architectually insignificant annex (another 1/4 block) immediately to the south that is used for storage and maintenance that could be torn down for the new building. I would say the building to the south is indeed architecturally significant. Granted it doesn't look like its ornate...

The building that houses The Session Room and several buildings on Leavenworth were all severely altered.
One of my very favorites that got unclad was the building on the NW corner of 49th & Dodge in Dundee.
