Re: Kitchen Table Deli (1415 Farnam St)

I appreciate what they are trying to do here also but it just falls short. The first time i was served completely burnt lasagna by the owner himself, the second time no burnt food but nothing outstanding either. I hope it gets better.

Re: Brushi (132nd and Dodge)

I thought it was fair. Bella the manager/bartender is great but the food was not fantastic. I had the paella and it was an interesting take on the dish but not life changing.

Great owners, great food and delicious daily specials. The menu does look a little lackluster at first glance but there are some great things on there and the specials are fantastic. Also - the char buff double dip wings are some of the very best in the metro.

Brad - we went back and I ordered those wings - they were awesome. I would actually put them right up there with Oscars (only the bleu cheese at Tap House is 100 times better).

Sitting outside on the patio and only buying their drinks seems like the best option for sure. Black Oak Grill won't last long either but it cannot be any worse than Portovino. The menu for Black Oak is about as boring and uninteresting as it gets.

If you want to count "close by" places then I think Jimi D's is a decent option. Mojo fails on food, service and atmosphere - those nachos are decent as well as a few of the sandwich options but everything else is just terrible. The sushi at Ponzu is very good but the poor service and bad ...

I have given CL three chances and it just never gets any better. I would have to say this is in the top three worst mexican joints in town. The service stinks, the food stinks and the whole vibe of the place is just weird. I expect them to be the next restaurant in Midtown to close.

While you can't go wrong with Jacobos I learned long ago that the "real" sopt is La Guera on 24th Street (next to Burger King). It is a small grocery store with a meat/deli counter in the back. They have enchiladas, carnitas, tamales, chile rellanos etc.
