Some part of the new work is too low so the water is going out in the grass.  So they are keeping it lower than normal, so no there are areas that are less than a foot deep. I have a hard time imagining someone paying over $1,000 to live across the street from the fire station.  I live in Union Plaza next door, and a big part of the reason it's so cheap for downtown space (600 for a 1-bedroom) is because of the fire station. Although technically not a new high-rise, nor technically downtown per se, but soon (April?) the Highline renovation should open.  If that ends up doing well, and developers run out of other candidates for TIF apartment projects, I think we see something in the works..but no idea what that timeline...

The Old Market does a good job of filtering out failing businesses. House of Lee was dirty and the food was not that good. I would love another asian/chinese/thai restaurant to go in that space.
